Introducing: Tenda - Everything for a better network

Introducing: Tenda - Everything for a better network

If we want to keep in alphabetical order, we should go with routers first, but we don’t. This is because many people are interested in the router and far fewer people are interested in the switch, so they may also run through the next lines to get to the part they are interested in.

A switch, if someone didn’t know, is like a hub. Oh no, that was HUB, but I haven’t seen it in a store in a while. So the point is that the switch plays a distribution role in Ethernet networks. Through this, we reach other machines, servers, printers and a thousand other things on the network. The switch is able to sort the data packets arriving on the network by the MAC address of the machines or network devices and send them only to the machine to which it belongs. The HUBs weren’t that smart, they sent them to every address, and then whoever didn’t belong had a snap of the package.

Recently, but especially since N-standard wireless routers became widespread, fewer and fewer people have been thinking about building a home wired network. Let's face it, they're right! True, gigabit transmission still requires wires, but in most cases it's a simple internet share, and 100 mega is a lot (usually).

So the bottom line is that companies are more likely to buy a switch these days, where they trust the cable more, want a lag-free network, maybe 10-15 or more people work on the network, copy files, print, etc. A wired core network is better suited here, and if we are not concerned about security issues, we can hang 1-2 access points on the end of the wire to make wireless access for guests.

Tenda’s products include devices with a few Ethernet ports to fit a small office, as well as racked 24-port devices. For this reason, we can completely cover this segment with Tenda products. Those who don’t like to wait can also buy gigabit hubs so that bits can rumble across the entire network. Of course, there are also gigabits among the network cards mentioned on the previous page, so all you need is good quality cables.

By the end, the routers were left. In connection with these, it is important to mention that the trend we observed for network cards is also true here. That is, only two of the Tenda routers available for purchase are non-N, but one of them does not have support for wireless networks at all. In other words, there are eleven wireless solutions, of which 10 N, and only one Gs standard! Well, you're starting to like it! What's more, most of the remaining eleven devices are capable of speeds of 150 Mbps instead of 300.

Routers are basically designed for home use, so they look great. We’re not saying that we’ve only seen nasty solutions for other Tenda products, but it’s a fact that you can choose between traditional shapes, rounded, external and hidden antennas, or any variation of these from routers.

Speaking of the exterior, it’s important to say that Tenda’s products have been given the well-proven bone-white coating, something that is a bit reminiscent of the apple and now very fashionable manufacturer’s products. Ugly, bad Tenda - we’d say if that weren’t the case for most manufacturers. This fashion, a fool would not follow.
