Acer is also recalling some Sony laptop batteries

After Dell, Apple, Toshiba, Lenovo / IBM, Matsushita / Panasonic, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Sharp, Gateway and Sony, Acer will also join the battery recall action.

As is well known, over the last year, more than 10 million Sony notebook batteries, affecting almost all manufacturers, have had to be replaced due to their tendency to overheat, risk of fire and accident.

The recall this time affects some 27 Acer models of the TravelMate and Aspire series sold in the U.S. and Canada between May 2004 and November 2006. These are 242, 320, 321, 330, 422, 467, 561, C20, 556, 560, 567, 930, 941 and 980.

Of course, even in this case, the manufacturer recommends that the owners of the laptops involved in the case avoid battery mode until the free replacement process is completed.
