ASUS G73Jh - portable fusion power plant with DirectX 11
Play without compromise - on a notebook. Something like this is the motto of this type, ASUS now really wanted to translate the performance and experience of a bull-powered desktop into a portable machine, and that’s why it did everything we feel successful. The cornerstone of computing power is the quad-core Clarksfield processor, in this case a Core i7 720QM.
The model, which has four physical cores made at 45 nm, also uses Hyper-Threading, for a total of 8 threads. The 1,6 GHz base clock signal can be upgraded by Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz, the L3 cache is 6 MB and the TDP is 45 W. An HM55 PCH is attached to the CPU. The CPU's integrated memory controller supports 1066 and 1333 MHz DDR3 modules, up to 8 GB. Well, ASUS has tied our hands in this area, as it has built 8GB by default, which is why no one is sad, is it?
A tiny slick may be the opposite of the fact that the modules are only 1066 MHz, but they are not of great significance. Needless to say, this CPU + PCH + RAM trio already provides enough cocoa for a very resource-intensive job, the conversion will also be an experience with it, but it would still be little for gaming alone. The other cornerstone is the dedicated graphics card, which is a modestly ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, of course with full DirectX 11 compatibility, with 1GB of its own GDDR5 VRAM. The model, codenamed Boradway-XT, features 800 shaders (which seems a bit of a strong shortcut compared to the 1600 on the desktop version), with a core timing of 700 MHz and memory running at 4000 MHz. It is, of course, made at 40 nm, with a typical power consumption of 60 W and a computing power of 1,12 TFLOPS. Of course, he knows and makes available all the technologies that his desktop brother knows: Eyefinity (with 6 displays), HD Audio (Dolby True HD, DTS HD), HDMI 1.3a, Avivo HD (UVD2.2).
By itself - in a single GPU category - it is currently the most powerful controller on the market, technologically the top, so it is of course Class 1 rated. With the support of Direct Compute 5, his power can also be captured for general tasks. We probably won't have any big problems with storage space either, as the manufacturer has installed two 320 GB SATA hard drives in the machine, so a total of 640 GB of nominal capacity is available (a 2 × 500 GB build is also available). In terms of optical drive, our model also got the weaker unit in the person of a multi-format DVD burner, but is also available with Bluray ODD. The other components meet the expected level, Bluetooth V2.1, 802.11 B / G / N WiFi, LAN, 8 in 1 card reader. In the tradition of ASUS, each performance profile can be controlled within the Power4Gear Hybid, and the combination of the FN button and each function key allows additional operations to be performed at high speed, conveniently.
The GPU-Z is not at the height of the situation
