Samsung has accordingly come up with a 16GB memory based on chips made with 30nm manufacturing technology, but in 2014 the company already expects 20nm solutions. It is worth noting that the DDR4 is extremely energy efficient as it operates at barely 1,2V. Samsung says energy savings of 1,35 percent can be achieved compared to DDR3 memories that require 40 volts. Obviously, in terms of consumption in concrete numbers, this would not be a huge value, but the direction is certainly gratifying. Samsung noted that they are working closely with major market players to get mass production up and running as soon as possible. In the first round, we can expect 8, 16 and 32 GB modules.

One more interesting thing about the end: there was news recently that the memory controller for Intel Haswell-EX server processors is already making good friendships with DDR4 memories.
