The 32GB SoDIMM module doubles the capacity so far while consuming significantly more modest power.

Samsung is stepping up

The South Korean giant has announced that it will be the first on the market to offer DDR4 memory of this size. Compared to Samsung’s previous SoDIMM memory with 20nm manufacturing technology using eight gigabit memory chips, speed has increased by 11% and power consumption has been reduced by 39%. This is due to the fact that the novelty is already made at 10 nm and is based on 16 pieces (8-8 per page) of 16 gigabit chips. By definition, the 64GB capacity can be achieved with two modules, which requires 4,6 watts in active mode and 1,4 watts in idle mode. It also shows that the Samsung player is destined for laptops.

The company was otherwise undergoing a very aggressive attack, with the 10nm DRAM offering (16GB LPDDR4, 16GB GDDR5 and 16GB DDR4) being envied by many.
