The range of Xiaomi earphones has been renewed, of course the quality has improved.
The ears of the Xiaomi are very creepy because of the excellent price coupled with excellent quality. However, as time goes on, developments do not stop, you need a new product to have something to sell. Because of this, things that were previously thought to be perfect also reveal that there is still something to polish on them.
The Xiaomi Mi AirDots Pro 2s and the Redmi AirDots S are two completely differently designed pieces. While the Pro carries forward the design introduced by Apple, the Redmi earphones fit into the earcup as usual. In addition to the shape, of course, the capabilities also differ, if only because the Redmi AirDots S is much cheaper. The diaphragm is smaller in size, the battery is smaller, and with it the battery life, and the water resistance is only IPX5 instead of the IPX4 level of the more expensive piece.
However, the most important difference has not yet been made, and this can be seen in the supported codecs. Xiaomi has already prepared the new Mi AirDots Pro 2S for the future, so the codecs include the new LDHC 3.0 instead of the DSP, which is specifically for MIUI users. Of course, only those whose phone already supports this codec, and there are few of them at the moment, specifically only two types, the Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Redmi K30 Pro. Of course, it is expected that in the future additional phones will receive LHDC codec support, so more and more people will be able to enjoy the outstanding sound quality provided by LHDC.
