Xiaomi JIMMY JV63 - Introduction
Last summer, the idea was ripe to replace our stationary vacuum cleaner we had used so far with a stronger one. The reason was simple, our sons are getting drunk, they are now three years old, and needless to say, there is something to clean up after them.
It was obvious to me that I was choosing a Xiaomi product because I didn’t have to be disappointed in the manufacturer yet.
Xiaomi makes a lot of stationary vacuum cleaners, some of them are cheap, and some are especially expensive, even with smart features, but I thought that smartness isn’t important, strength is all the more so. This is why the choice fell on the JIMMY JV63, also mentioned in the title, which is a powerful yet affordable vacuum cleaner.
Well, half a year has passed, so there’s plenty of time for me to write about my experience with the machine.
Packaging, accessories
Of course, again at the end of the article I will leave the experience, if you are not interested in the accessories, and in the next chapter of the capabilities, feel free to scroll down!
The machine comes in a fairly large but quality package. Of course, this is no wonder, as there is a vacuum cleaner in the white box, and next to the machine we find a stack of accessories, so they need space.
Opening the box strengthens the feeling that we have bought quality stuff again, the accessories and the machine are waiting for us to unpack them.
Out of the box is the vacuum cleaner itself, a large suction head for the floor and carpets, a small suction head for the upholstered furniture and, of course, the associated pipe. In addition to these, we find a second brush for the larger head, we get two types of partial suction heads, a hanger with which we can hang the machine on the wall, and of course the charger, which is an EU plug.
What is important is that the larger head has a brush recommended for hard floors at the factory, while the bristle version is said to be more good for carpet floors. That is how I will describe it from experience.
It is imaginative that the smaller suction heads have also been given a brush, which can be pulled down to the bottom of the head, with the help of which the dirt trapped in the gaps can be swept out.
All of the parts are quality pieces, here you can also feel that we are dealing with a Xiaomi product.

As I wrote in the introduction, the goal was to get a powerful but small, easy-to-use vacuum cleaner. Because of this, I then looked through many machines comparing performance and suction power data.
The Xiaomi JIMMY JV63 is clearly one of the more powerful machines. The digitally controlled, carbonless brushless motor in it has a rated power of 450 watts and a suction power of 20 Pa.
The built-in battery states that it is powered by a 7 x 2500 mAh battery pack and, depending on the paper format, the vacuum cleaner can run for up to 60 minutes on a single charge. How true this is can be read again from experience.
Okay, what else do you know?
The vacuum cleaner heads, the larger one and the upholstery cleaner also have a motor, which means that the brush itself rotates, helping to get dirt, dust and dirt into the head and from there into the dust container.
The machine is, of course, a bagless version with the usual accessories. There is a HEPA filter for dust, pollen, mites and the like, and there is a stainless steel insert with larger holes for larger dirt. All I can tell you now is that the solution is extremely effective, not that no dust has gotten through in half a year, not even the part that contains the engine is so dirty that I have to wipe it with a dusting disc.
The tank itself has a capacity of half a liter anyway, so half of it is dirty, you don't have to empty it every day.
According to the factory data, it is also worth mentioning that the manufacturer emphasizes that the vacuum cleaner head is suitable even for long-haired pets, because the brush does not wrap the long strands (even hairs), thus effectively delivering the hair to the machine's tank.
At the end of one more data, the maximum noise level is 78 dBA. How much or little you will find out in the next chapter!
Experiences
I didn't let the previous chapters go straight, the point will be here anyway!
Let’s start at the beginning with the 60-minute run time mentioned above. Well, it's true, it's not. The vacuum cleaner really knows, but only at the lowest speed and only without the active, motorized brush. It’s in Xiaomi’s favor not to hide the other data either, meaning we can be aware of what uptime we can expect.
It looks like this:
- Operating time with electric brush (Normal / Strong / Max suction mode): Approx. 8/20/40 minutes
- Operating time without electric brush (Normal / Strong / Max suction mode): Approx. 9/25/60 minutes
What does this mean in practice?
If you are buying a stationary vacuum cleaner, you need to know that these machines do not contain a huge battery due to their small weight and size. If we want higher performance and suction power, we have to reckon with shorter operating times. Unfortunately, this is a type and manufacturer independent thing.
Why isn't that a problem after all?
Because stationary vacuum cleaners were not invented to vacuum the entire apartment with them. If someone asks me for advice on buying such a machine, I will always warn you of this fact and tell you that these machines are more effective and quick replacements for a broom + shovel combo.
They are designed to clean up scattered crumbs, dirt scattered during cooking in the kitchen, mud falling from our shoes in the hallway in a matter of moments, and effectively.
For this reason, even the 8-minute operating time is not from the devil, as we can vacuum a larger kitchen or hallway in 8 minutes, although it is no longer a complete apartment.
Of course there is a way to save energy, I describe how I do it.
We have hard laminated parquet, and of course stone in the restrooms. To clean this, I use the brush for this (this is the red-blue-black stripes in the pictures). The great advantage of this brush is that it does not chase smaller crumbs in front of it, for example, the dirt gets into the vacuum head effectively.
Taking advantage of this, it is enough to do the cleaning at medium speed (this is not 8, but 20 minutes of operation time) and then, before lifting the vacuum head off the ground, I switch to the strongest gear for a few moments, so the dirt is guaranteed to come out of the tank.
In the case of upholstered furniture and carpets, this method does not work, we have to consider the use of the strongest suction power, depending on the degree of soiling.
What’s not insignificant, though, is that this vacuum cleaner really sucks hard, so we shouldn’t forget that what counts as medium performance here is already the maximum on a cheaper machine, so you don’t underestimate the average speed and 20 minutes of cleaning time.
I promised to write about noise as well. Well, 78 dBA is not a little, but since we are talking about a vacuum cleaner is not much. Overall, at the highest turn, the point is as loud as a quieter regular-sized, traditional vacuum cleaner. At a medium turn it wouldn't be so loud anymore, and at the lowest turn I would say it was quieter.
And how to use it?
I have no complaints about this. The machine is light and small. The heads turn in a wide range, so we can easily push them under furniture as well. I’ve already written about suction power, there really is cocoa in the machine, at maximum speed it can already compete with a smaller conventional vacuum cleaner.
Emptying the dust container is simple, really very easy. I can safely take it off the machine in the apartment, I don’t have to take the whole vacuum cleaner to the trash if I want to empty it.
If I had to write about a negative, I can only mention one thing, I would have been happy if the wall mount had also been a charger. Of course, this is not a disaster, but one more move if I want to charge the discharged machine because I have to manually plug the charging cable into the top end.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I can say that the Xiaomi JIMMY JV63 has worked for us. We got exactly what we expected. Of course, you need to be aware of the limits of these machines, if you buy them instead of a traditional vacuum cleaner, you are guaranteed to be disappointed. As I wrote, it triggers not sweeping, but sweeping.
The value for money of the machine is really very good, we get high suction power and a large battery compared to its size for relatively little money. Obviously there is a cheaper solution on the market than that, but if we choose one, we have to reckon with getting less power and battery for less money, and when we drive the machine to the maximum there, we will have an extra deployable gear here.
