Mini PCs have been with us for many years, and although they are purchased, they have not yet been able to replace large, battery-powered machines, although in most cases they would be perfectly suitable for home use. True, because of their small size, they are more expensive in proportion than their larger counterparts, but in return they are silent, barely consuming, and even fit on the back of the monitor, meaning they are essentially invisible.
The reason I’m writing this short presentation is that today I came across a machine that is amazingly cheap. Browsing the competition, it turns out that the price is roughly the same as a machine with an Intel Core i3 processor, while a Core i7 processor is working on it. In Chinese stores, such irons are already called gamer pécs, which is no wonder.
The machine, oddly named XCY X35, resides in a 13,6 x 12,5 x 4,3 centimeter box, and in this tiny housing we find a complete computer. By default, the processor is an Intel Core i7 8550U, with 8GB of memory and an SSD with a capacity of 120-240 or 480GB. If that wasn’t enough, we could even double the memory because the machine also supports 16GB capacity. Intel prociba's integrated solution, the Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU, is responsible for the graphics.
As I wrote this is a complete computer that nothing shows better than a plethora of connectors. There are no less than eight USB ports on it, half of them are USB 3.0 and the other half are 2.0. To access the Internet and the network, you can use the gigabit LAN connector or wifi that supports 802.11.b / g / n standards installed on the motherboard, for which you get 300 megabits of speed and two antennas. The image can be output from the machine via a standard VGA or HDMI connector, but there is also space for a 3,5 mm microphone and a 3,5 mm speaker connector. You can find Windows 10 pre-installed in Pécs.
I wrote about the price at the beginning of the presentation, but let the specifics come. Browsing through the range, it turns out that an Intel Core i7 machine is also priced at $ 600-700, while at the bottom of the range are machines running with ultra low power consumption in exchange for ultra gynege processors at around $ 250. This machine currently costs $ 378,99, so for the money, we get a mini patch with an Intel Core i3 proc in a good case, but really only in a good case. That is, we can safely say that this machine is currently one of, if not the cheapest machine equipped with Intel Core i7 proc.
