Asetek today announced a breakthrough in thin-liquid chillers. Thanks to the new cooling system, the sleek design and high performance can go hand in hand.

The company presented the capabilities of the technology on the Alienware M18x buffalo-powered notebook. The specially designed solution worked so efficiently that it managed even a major overdrive. The Intel Core i7-2920XM CPU, which beats in the laptop, has a maximum clock speed of 3,5 GHz, and the Radeon HD 6990M GPU is ticking at 680 MHz, so the machine is by no means weak. After implementing the cooling system, Asetek chased the operating frequency of the central unit to 4,4 GHz and the graphics processor to 800 MHz. Of course, the long-awaited result was not missed: the 3D Mark Vantage test program showed an acceleration of 23 percent, while noise emissions were lower than for factory cooling.

The CEO of Asetek sees a growing demand for high-performance laptops, but a sleek exterior is also important to customers, but Alienware’s M-Series laptops meet these requirements.
