Caution! The OTP website has been falsified

OTP Bank indicated that it had received reports from several of its customers, apparently drawing attention to e-mails sent on behalf of the bank in English and to the forged website available from them.

OTP Bank reacted quickly to a security threat that attempts to deceive users by falsifying the bank's website. The aim of the phishing attack on a Hungarian financial institution is to obtain as much confidential data as possible from unsuspecting users. These attacks are not new in Hungary either, as last December Raiffeisen and Erste Bank also had to face similar security incidents.

Phishing related to OTP Bank starts in the form of an email in English. Clicking on the link in the letter will bring up a fake English OTP website. The graphics and the look of the web page look very similar to the original page at first glance, but there are some signs that can help detect a malicious site. On the one hand, in the address bar of the browser one www.gamecrap.com domain URL is displayed. In addition, there is no indication of safe pages (such as the small padlock in the status bar) in the web browser, and some content items are missing from the right side of the malicious website. However, the login interface for the OTPdirekt service can be found. If the user enters his data here, it will fall into the hands of attackers.

OTP Bank has drawn attention to the fact that it never asks for identification data from its customers by e-mail, SMS or telephone!
