Fujitsu Siemens has introduced the world's smallest server

The PRIMERGY TX120 was awarded the Innovation Award at the Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers' new PRIMERGY TX120 tower server will forever banish the age of noisy servers. For the first time in the world, this system is designed specifically for companies that do not have a separate server room. Like its bigger siblings, the PRIMERGY TX120 offers full functionality and meets all the needs of small businesses as well as small and home offices. Its low power consumption and compact size are coupled with quiet operation and lower-than-usual heat output.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers TX120 server is unique in its category due to three factors:

• Lower power consumption - The TX120 consumes 40% less power than traditional tower servers. It uses only as much energy as a household light bulb.
• Smaller size - The PRIMERGY TX120 takes up only a third of the space of a traditional tower server. The size of the compact housing is 99 mm x 340 mm x 399 mm (width x height x depth).
• Quieter operation - The quietest machine in the TX120 category. Its noise emission is half that of its traditional tower servers - this is a particularly important aspect in offices where it is not possible to set up a separate server room. The PRIMERGY TX120 generates 28 decibels of noise in stand-by mode and 31 decibels in operation, so it certainly does not disturb workers at work.

Like the rest of the PRIMERGY family, the PRIMERGY TX120 package includes PRIMERGY Server View remote monitoring software that provides unlimited, flexible, secure and economical monitoring capabilities in time and space. There is no longer a need for a local administrator, which is especially beneficial for branch offices and in-house workgroups.
