Samsung today unveiled its 2013 TV product line, which features breakthrough picture quality, sleek looks and uniquely “smart” features. As consumers become more interested in devices with 60-inch and larger screens, Samsung is launching the world’s largest 110-inch UHD TV, among other innovations.

Key features of the 2013 products:

  • Samsung Smart Hub: Initially, three windows help consumers manage the various options. Each file appears in the form of small thumbnails, making it even easier to select the right content.
  • Coordinate different content and devices with split-image mode: Samsung Smart View and AllShare can seamlessly move files between your TV and a variety of compatible devices, so you can watch TV on Samsung Galaxy tablets or smartphones.
  • Smart Evolution: Users can enjoy the latest Smart TV features without buying a new TV.

In recognition of its innovation efforts, Samsung’s four TV products won the 2013 CES Innovation Award. The Samsung UHD S9 received the Best Innovation Award, while three other Samsung Smart TVs - the F9500, F8000 Smart LED TV and F7500 Smart LED TV - were awarded in the Design and Engineering category.

The redesign of the Samsung Smart Hub also makes it easy to discover. Applications and more are organized into five dynamic menu items, providing an easy-to-use interface and providing easy navigation between each category. These menu items are:

  • Movies, Series - An easy-to-use list of movies and series that also fit the user's TV viewing habits.
  • Photos, videos, and music — lets users organize files and content on Samsung Smart TV and connected devices.
  • Social Services - Lists popular content recommended by family and friends, as well as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube.
  • Applications - Download and recommend applications from the Samsung Apps online application store.

Samsung Smart Interaction provides even more accurate face recognition, voice and motion control using various algorithms. With enhanced Voice Interaction, users can use their ordinary speech to request their TV to search for movies by simply entering the actor’s name, title, or genre.

Motion control now detects even the most natural movements, even with both hands, and senses the environment more accurately. Viewers can use their fingers to mimic a beep to zoom in on the screen or use one finger to move between Smart Hub panels.

Connecting compatible devices to a TV is also easy with Samsung AllShare. Once the wireless connection is established, the devices can send and receive images and sound files immediately.

The Samsung S9 UHD TV represents the future of home entertainment. Ultra HD resolution provides the best picture quality regardless of the video source, as Samsung's patented solution can convert HD or Full-HD content to UHD level picture quality.

Thanks to the Samsung Precision Black Pro solution, the S9 is also able to perfectly combine really deep black and pure white. This exceptionally high contrast, combined with the Ulimate Dimming function, provides a sharp image that was previously unknown on displays of this size.

In addition to image quality, the S9 also boasts a powerful sound system and quad-core processor, so using content and applications at the same time is no problem. The S9's three-way, 2.2-channel sound system, with its 120 watts of power, is six times the performance of an average TV.

Samsung’s OLED TV, the F9500 - light emitting red, green and blue subpixels, eliminating the need for backlighting, so black can be really night dark and white can be snow white. The outstanding contrast provides an unprecedented representation of the darkest shadows, shapes and subtle colors. The F9500 is the world's first television to include Samsung's Multi-View feature. Multi View allows you to play up to several Full HD content on the same screen. This option can be taken advantage of with Samsung 3D glasses, which also have built-in speakers, ensuring perfect stereo sound.

The F8000 Series LED TVs offer even brighter and richer colors, higher contrast and better picture quality than before. Samsung’s unique Dimming Ultimate technology delivers incredibly deep black and bright 3D images. The F8000 is the world’s first Smart LED TV equipped with a quad-core processor, allowing users to quickly and easily jump between apps, online services and TV shows without missing out on any detail. The F8000 will appear in 46, 55, 60, 65 and 75 inch screen sizes.

The Samsung F7500 series, which will be available in 46-, 55- and 60-inch versions, features the quad-core processor introduced in the F8000, helping with Smart Interaction and other advanced features.

The F8500 guarantees outstanding image quality with the deepest black and the brightest possible image. The device actually has a brightness similar to that of LED TVs, while it shows eight times more depth in terms of black thanks to Samsung’s patented Deep Black algorithm and Real Black Pro II technology. The F8500 is one of the first televisions to offer native support for HEVC-encoded content. The devices will be available in 51, 60 and 64 inch versions.

From the 7 Series onwards, all new Samsung Smart TVs are compatible with the Smart Evolution accessory, which provides the TV owner with the latest hardware and software updates for Smart TV technology. The 2013 Smart Evolution Kit for the 2012 models brings a redesigned Smart HUB, more advanced voice and motion control, and a quad-core processor. 2013 Samsung Smart TVs from the 7 Series upwards will also receive the Smart Evolution Kit connector.
