The reception of MinDig TV is further improved

The reception of MinDig TV is further improvedAs a result of the improvements, the reception possibilities of the digital terrestrial television offer, including public service television and radio channels, will be significantly expanded.

From 2011 September 30, in order to further improve the reception capabilities and quality of MinDig TV and MinDig TV Extra services, certain parameters of the network will change for all three digital terrestrial television multiplexes.

Who will be affected by the technical changes?

Primarily viewers who watch public service programs with a roof or room antenna, sometimes via a cable TV network as part of the MinDig TV service. Of these, it definitely affects the viewers of the Danube and Danube 2 all over the country, as well as the viewers of m1, m2 and commercial channels living in the Budapest, Karancsi, Salgótarján, Békéscsaba and Vasvár reception areas, as well as m1 and m2 living elsewhere, depending on the TV and receiver decoder. may also be affected. It does not affect the analogue terrestrial broadcasting of m1, nor the viewers of the Danube and Danube 2 with satellite receivers. In the case of the latter, the change of satellite is in progress, which is independent of the current - terrestrial - broadcasting changes. It also does not affect satellite and cable TV subscribers, for whom the broadcasting service provider makes the necessary settings.

What to do?

Follow the instructions for use of the receiver's decoder or TV, or the information on the screen. Due to the wide variety of device types, this may be the case. Most importantly, the change can only be made after the morning shutdown on September 30th. Many devices will perform the retuning automatically, other devices will only offer this option, but some devices will need to start the automatic retuning manually. In all cases where the receiver does not operate as intended after the changes, it is recommended that you perform the “Restore factory settings” and then “Tuning the receiver” steps.
