Samsung has sold more than 300 million mobile phones

Samsung is currently the second largest mobile phone maker in the world after Nokia. The company has now issued a statement announcing that it had sold more assets in 2011 than ever before, exceeding expectations. That translates to more than 300 million handset sales.

According to the announcement, the huge success of the Galaxy S II, which sold 10 million copies by the end of September in less than ever, contributed greatly to the record. According to JK Shin, CEO of Samsung's mobile sector, the fact that Samsung also offers smartphones with Android, Windows Phone and Bada system also contributes to the success. The CEO added he is confident that similar successes will be achieved in 2012 as well.
