Surprise from Hitachi on the official announcementAs we recently reported, Hitachi’s 4-terabyte storage has been put on store shelves in Japan. However, the official announcement expanded with a little surprise.

Friday’s news was about Hitachi’s 4-terrain internal hard drives. Our article on the new member of the Deskstar 5K4000 family can be read at the link below. In connection with the official announcement, not only the inner but also the outer brother was introduced.

The 4 terabyte external hard drive has been born as a new member of the Touro Desk external hard drive family. Working with a Deskstar 5k4000 heart, hidden in a designer simple black robe, it will be able to connect to this system via USB 3.0, the largest external hard drive currently available.

The internal Deskstar 5K4000 has an end-user price of $ 399, while the external unit also comes with 3 gigabytes of cloud-based storage courtesy of HitachiBackup.com, so we’ll have to leave $ 419 in store for the Touro Desk. Unfortunately, as mentioned in the previous news, these hard drives are only available in Japan for now.
