A non-Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) certified driver allows supersampling and adaptive anti-aliasing under DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 supported applications. Activation can be done in the Catalyst Control Center. There appear to be some surprises in the GCN architecture on the software side as well. The new Catalyst brings some performance gains over several popular game programs.

  • Up to 8% acceleration Aliens vs. Under the Predator
  • Up to 15% acceleration in Battleforge with anti-aliasing turned on
  • Up to 3% acceleration in Battlefield 3
  • Up to 3% acceleration in Crysis 2
  • Up to 6% acceleration in Crysis Warhead
  • Up to 10% acceleration in F1 in 2010
  • Up to 5% acceleration under Unigine with edge smoothing on
  • Up to 250% acceleration in TessMark (OpenGL) when using "insane" mode.

Minor fixes have also been made, which have improved stability for CrossFireX systems and eliminated anomalies during Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Dragon Age 2, and StarCraft 2 games. The AMD Catalyst 8.921.2 RC11 ide click to download.
