György Beck, the company's president, said at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday that, according to the original plans, the development would have been completed by the summer. He added that in order for high-speed internet to be available everywhere in the settlements, a 900 frequency use license has already been obtained and paid for by the company, which the authority is expected to issue in a very short time.

The company has modernized 2.600 base stations. The new network will consume half as much energy as the previous and capable fourth-generation services, but these will be introduced by Vodafone depending on market needs. The President said earlier that tens of billions of forints would be spent on the amount of the investment, and 15 megahertz 2 frequencies were bought at the state auction for another 900 billion forints. According to MTI's market information, network modernization, together with the frequency purchase, will cost more than HUF 50 billion.
