The new Mali-T600 series has officially launched

The Mali-T624, T628 and T678 are based on the Midgard architecture.
vYyFV Unlike their predecessors, the new IGPs already support a texture compression format called Adaptive Texture Compression Scalable (ASTC), which offers better performance and better image quality while reducing power consumption somewhat. The solutions in all three introductions support the following APIs: OpenGL ES 1.1, OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.0, DirectX 11 FL 9_3, DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.1, and Google Renderscript compute. The company envisions the Mali-T624 and T628 to be housed in smartphones and smart TVs, and the Mali-T678 will show its power in tablets.

The Mali-T624 can use up to 4 shader processors, which makes it significantly weaker than the T628, as it can accommodate up to 8 processors. Of course, due to the higher power requirements, the T678 can also handle tasks with the same number of shader processors. However, we should not rely solely on numbers, as the Mali-T678 GPU offers four times more computing power than the Mali-T624. This is due to the fact that the former was simply pointed at this area.

In a statement, ARM highlighted that the Mali-T600 series has been designed to meet a wide range of needs. This really seems to be the right one, as anyone who is satisfied with the lower speed can choose the Mali-T624. By comparison, the Mali-T628 offers twice the rougher graphics speed, while the Mali-T678 is four times richer than the general calculations.
Interestingly, the developers say the performance per unit area of silicon area has increased by 50%.
