SonyEricsson has introduced a broadband mobile modem

The manufacturer's USB key is capable of HSDPA speed.

Instead of phones, the joint venture has announced a device specifically designed for mobile internet, most similar to USB Wi-Fi adapters, except that this time an HSDPA network is required to browse the World Wide Web. The device, created as the MD300, requires nothing more than a free USB space or a Microsoft or Apple operating system, as the connection is made by the preinstalled software.

Once the connection is established and the network is strong enough, the MD300 is capable of download speeds of up to 3,6 Mbps. You can save the downloaded material to the built-in memory, but it doesn't hurt to think about what you want to carry with you, as the storage is only 128 MB.

Distribution of the MD300 may begin in early 2008, when the modem will be available in two colors - luxury black and metallic silver.
