Successful Hungarian position at the European Flight Simulator Championship

The FORTIS Dogfight Cup, the European Flight Simulator Championship, was held in Budapest for the second time. Over the weekend, 11 competitors from 30 nations competed in two categories at the Budapest International Fair in its virtual airspace.

The largest international competition for PC flight simulator enthusiasts, the European Flight Simulator Championship, was held on September 2006 and 9, 10 within the InfoMarket (BNV) exhibition. The competition took place on standard PCs. The task for the two-man teams in each case was to shoot down two of the opponent's fighter jets in machine gun air combat.

The interesting thing about the competition is that in addition to the many “civilian” competitors, the MH59 from Kecskemét went to war. Pilots of Szentgyörgyi Dezső Air Base MiG-29 and Gripen (MH59), as well as the Swedish Air Force Gripen (212 sqn.), Who took 5th and 7th place, respectively.
