Shuttle H7 5820S mini workstation with Matrox graphics

Shuttle unveiled its compact workstation based on Intel's LGA1366 platform at the end of the week, and in addition to good performance, it also allows for multi-monitor tasks thanks to Matrox M-series graphics cards.

The size of the H7 5820S is 32,6 × 20,8 × 19,6 centimeters and you can even request a Core i7 processor (max. The six-core Core i7-980). We can’t complain about the amount of memory, as we can pack not only 8, but even 16 gigans into the house. The most powerful model comes with a 240GB SSD and a 2TB HDD, if you want to save money you can request two or even one hard drive. There is also a large selection in the field of optical drives, as a time-lapse (but cost-effective) DVD burner is available in addition to a Blu-ray combo and Blu-ray burner. In the top category, two Matrox M9188s with 2GB of VGA memory work, with which we can work on up to 16 displays.

The entry-level model is home to a Core i7-950 CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD and a Matrox M9138 LP card, we can connect three monitors to it and Shuttle is asking for 1400 euros for it. You’ve pretty much figured out the specification for the high-end H7 5820S: Core i7 980 processor, 16GB of memory, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, 2 Matrox M9188 2GB video cards and approx. triple the price. Each version comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, and prices include a preinstalled Windows 7 operating system.
