There’s been information about the Redmi 10X for a while now, but now we know that we’re actually getting not one, but two phones with that name. The Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro are similar in many ways, but the Pro version has, of course, become stronger in some capabilities.

The central unit of the phones is the MediaTek Dimensity 820, which is the manufacturer’s new upper-middle-end chip, with 5G support, of course. At Redmi, of course, they also explained why this tile was chosen. One reason is that it is very close in performance from the Snapdragon 855, quite precisely the Dimensity 820 415 672- while the SP855 445 343 pushes points in Antutu. The second is that MediaTek's chip is already capable of dual SIM 5G + 5G operation, while Qualcomm has not yet been able to enter the market with such a central unit.

The two phones do not differ in terms of display or battery. In both cases, the former means a 2400 x 1080 pixel 20: 9 aspect ratio OLED panel that supports HDR 10+. The battery in both devices has a capacity of 4520 mAh, but while the Pro gets 33 and the plain 10X we only get a 22,5 watt fast charge. It’s definitely good to know that with 5G phones, we can expect larger batteries than the usual average size so far, because the technologies require slightly more power.

Perhaps the most significant difference in terms of differences is between cameras. The Pro version has a 20-megapixel self-timer that can take up to 120 frames (just a question of what resolution. On the back, a four-camera solution awaits us, with a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and an 8-megapixel zoom camera. Working with a 5x hybrid and 30x software zoom, the fourth camera has become a 5 megapixel Amro.

The Redmi 10X, on the other hand, got a 16-megapixel self-timer camera on the front and a much less triple solution on the back. The main camera in this case is also 48 megapixels, but in addition to the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, there is only a 2-megapixel depth sensor. So neither zoom nor macro.

Let's see more interesting things! The first is that Xiaomi (Redmi) has created new watermarks for automatic scene recognition. This is more aesthetically interesting, of no practical use. The other is that we get IP53 protection against water and dust, but whether this only applies to the Pro version or both, we don’t know yet. The third is that the Pro version also got NFC, which was unfortunately left out of the cheaper model.

We already have prices, but let them be treated with caution, we can certainly come across more combi price tags in the stores. The base model Redmi 10X is $ 6 in the 64/250 configuration, $ 6 in the 128 // 295, and $ 8 in the 256/340 version. I don’t see much point in the latter for a phone in this category, but then the market will decide if it is needed.

The Pro version is of course more expensive. Here we have to pay $ 8 for an 128/320 gig piece and $ 8 for an 256/365 gig.

An extra addition at the end. Redmi has also introduced the 10G version of Redmi 4X, but this device is essentially the same as the other known Redmi Note 9. A phone with a Helio G85 chipset and a 5020 mAh battery in a 4/128 gig design is priced at $ 140 for a 6-128 / 168 gig.
