We had a slap in the face last year because of the Motorola RAZR revived from its ashes.

The leaked Motorola RAZR 2 specifications are disappointing

For those who were familiar with the original RAZR, Motorola’s announcement of the revival of the handset came with a real time travel. It is no exaggeration to say we loved the original at the time, although it was not cheap either.

The appearance of the foldable displays gives the company the opportunity to place a tiny device on the table that rivals traditional-sized phones while collapsing. This was essentially the case, only much later than planned and with much weaker hardware than expected. The launch wasn’t helped either by the fact that Samsung, meanwhile, also made its own variant in the person of the Z Flip, and it got better in every way than the new RAZR.

Meanwhile, Motorola has started working on the second version, its specifications have now been leaked. Boasting the code name “smith” and the model number “XT2071-4”, the new mobile will not save the world again according to current news. The Snapdragon 765, chosen as the central unit, is much more powerful than last year’s SP710, but still doesn’t match the performance of Samsung’s SP855 +, which worked in last year’s phone. The built-in memory will be 8 while the mass storage will be 256 GB.

Thanks to the new chipset, the new phone will already support 5G technology, which is the only reason why the battery capacity has to be increased. The problem is that last year we only get 2510 seats with a 2845 mAh capacity, and knowing that last year I was already suffering from pulling out a day without charging, this is not expected to change with the new device. Again, it is worth mentioning that the Samsung Z Flip released last year already had a unit with a capacity of 3300 mAh.

We don't get too much in the field of cameras either. Only a 48 megabyte ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor will work on the back. The good news, though, is that the predecessor’s 5-megapixel self-timer camera will be replaced with a 20-megapixel.

If you now say that this is not so bad, then I have to disappoint you with the bad news that the phone will not be on the market before September, which means that by then it will become even more "obsolete". Not to mention that they asked for almost 1500 dollars for the predecessor, and we can't expect any relief for the second version either, in fact. So for that much money, we would expect a little more, although the fact is that the foldable shell design and the good-sounding name RAZR will still entice many to buy.
