Details on AMD's three-core processors
Starting in March 2008, we will be able to purchase central units with an odd number of cores.
The three-core K2008 processors, scheduled for the first quarter of 10, will be numbered 7 within the Phenom family, according to VR-Zone. The triumvirate created by disabling the fourth core is codenamed Toliman, in addition to the number of cores, the parameters already known to the quad-core peers can be read in addition to the family name 7.
Initially, two models will be available on the market, in addition to the 2,5 GHz 7700, a slightly slower 2,3 GHz version will also be available. The unofficial itinerary also shows that the manufacturer does not intend to discontinue the distribution of tri-core specimens even after the change in production technology. However, the 45 nm processor, which is still called Heka, is not very common before the first half of 2009.
