SilverStone feeds against headwinds

Watts do not count with the manufacturer's new power supplies.

In recent weeks, it has been virtually not a week that we have not reported on the power supplies of various manufacturers blessed with over 1 kilowatt of power. Amazing dimensions, brutally strong 12 V branches, plaffling prices. While SilverStone isn’t to be feared when it comes to watt hair, it now seems to have rethought its strategy for this year and introduced two new, relatively low-power foods.

The power family, known as the Strider, already has a number of members, but the manufacturer has now decided that it is worth expanding the range of models with 500 or less power. Based on data from the ST35F, it produces almost the same as its slightly older ST350 sibling, but it’s important to mention that the F-ended model already promises 80 percent efficiency. Practically the same can be said for the 500W ST50F, but based on the data, this new 500 has the most modest knowledge compared to its counterparts of similar size.

Of the units with an active PFC, the 500 is best recommended for systems with two video cards, though the ST35F is not ashamed of power either.

The cabling of the two power supplies varies with performance, with the ST50F having six SATA, 2 PCIe and an 8-pin EPS12V connector instead of four.

We also received some information about expected prices. The price of the ST35F will peak at around 15000 HUF, but the price tag of the 500 W ST50F can easily include an amount over 20000 HUF.
