Processor with 4 cores - it's here!

Intel's four-core processors have officially arrived.

As is well known, the Intel processor is not a 4 but 2 + 2 core solution, as although the enclosure is one, we find 2 cores under the protective cap. Solutions like this are not new, as Intel's first dual-core solution worked in this way.

Preliminary information, the leaked NVIDIA 8800 GTX test, the reality of which is far from proven, predicted that the new processor, even if not double its predecessor, promises much higher performance.

Processor with 4 cores - it's here!

Well, based on tests released yesterday, it can be said that the expected extra power is there in the processor, the only problem is that there is no software that we can use it effectively. Disappointment is commonplace, as it is not the first time that the evolution of hardware has seemed to leave much behind the development of software.

At the same time, we welcome the quad-core Intel newcomer and look forward to software developers incorporating at least dual-core support correctly into their products so that four-core support can follow.
