Problems around Avast antivirus

Problems around Avast antivirusDue to a false alarm, several programs do not work properly or the system does not start.

Some Avast users have three false alarms complain on the company's website. Antivirus software has identified the Kernel32.dll Windows 7 system file as an infected file. After removing the file, several programs became unusable, but it also happened that the operating system did not start.

Avast has already confirmed the faulty update: “We have received numerous reports of the problem in recent days. This is not a new phenomenon. Sometimes it happens that a good antivirus gives false alarms," said Rik Bogers, head of logistics. "Colleagues are already working on this problem. Until then, the best solution is not to remove the file in question.” To restore protected files, modern Windows operating systems have a built-in program that can be started with the SFC /SCANNOW command line command.

This is not the first time that a security program has mistakenly flagged important files as malicious. A similar case has occurred with the AVG antivirus in the past.
