Nielsen’s analyzes further reinforce the fact that Android is gradually owning a growing slice of the virtual smartphone cake.

By now, Android's market dominance has reached the point where more phones running this system are sold than all the others combined, at least according to Nielsen's analysis based on the American market. It is not known where it will end when it is no longer able to expand the range of its users, but it is certain that in August this figure was "only" 43%.

OS-Share

At the time of compiling the analysis, more than 25 and a half thousand people were interviewed, based on which Apple’s sales alone did not decline significantly. BlackBerry software has now been able to sell half as many phones as RIM, a huge drop from 18% in the previous month, Apple, as I mentioned, retained sales, they continued to sell 28% of the phones in September as well. The other systems account for 6% of the phones sold, which is also a huge drop as Symbian, Bada, Windows Phone 11, MeeGo, LiMo, and other systems recently had a 7% share.

Not only is this Android repression true for the U.S. market, as other analyzes show that Android was already above 48% globally in the second quarter, and by now it might be more than the U.S. market.

It should also be noted that the share of smartphones themselves has also increased, with 58% of phones already sold being smarter than their owners.
