OUGHT WP2 - the real survivor

If you were banished to the jungle and could only carry one phone, that would be it.

OUGHT WP2 - the real survivor

Introductory

It is more and more apparent that emerging Chinese producers are trying to conquer the market in the premium segment but in the area of special telephones. The pursuit can be spun with understandable, relatively weak hardware, as those who need this phone will not be concerned with whether the latest shooter is running on the mobile, but that if it does not break, if it does not get wet, if you do not have an outlet near you do not dive. There are moderate attempts in this area, there are some that are joking, and there are some things that really want to maximize. OWNED WP2 is this. It is incapable to engage

Packaging and exterior

The phone arrives in the usual black box, but the packaging is better than the average. The reason is simple, the phone is not only massive in its exterior, its mass is brutal compared to an average mobile, and this is why the thick sponge bed.

OVERVIEW WP2 1

Open the box and fold up a cardboard card to get the phone on hand. Under WP2, you will find a black box with the description and the needle used for the SIM tray. It's interesting to know that even this needle is huge, adjusting to the phone. In addition to the mobile, there are two boxes of cables, USB, OTA and Type-C jack, as well as the charger.

Overture WP2 is highlighted from the box by the brutal sign that one can think of. The phone is extremely large, with 15.21 x 7.12 x 0.85 centimeter edges and 360 grams.

OVERVIEW WP2 2

Despite the dimensions, we do not feel that we are going to have an overdimensional thing in our hands, somehow it looks natural for this mobile. In essence, the entire phone is protected by a rubber band, only the front glass, the metal bolt on both sides and the rear camera shell hang out. It's not a soft rubber, it's harder to imagine than a rubber car. As you can see in the pictures, the corners have been cut off, of course, they have thick rubber on their seats, so we can almost assure you that a normal fallout and a screen break combo will not work if it can happen at all.

OVERVIEW WP2 3

The WP2 has been rated as IP68, and according to the manufacturer's specification, it also meets the military standards for both water and dust resistance and impact and dropping protection. Although this topic is not explained, it is to be expected that it can only be good if a phone meets these standards. IP68 protection, for example, means that, as we have already described in several cases, the mobile can withstand several hours of underwater life without being leaked. On OUCHITEL WP2, this was solved with non-waterproof connectors, but with large rubber caps that block the water from the contacts and the SIM tray. They are so thick, rigid, and tightly fitting hats that I had to look at the description in the test, because I was not sure I was doing it well, I was scared to break up and get rid of something that I should not.

OVERVIEW WP2 4

If we are at the hats, let's talk about the details in a few words. WP2 is essentially all in its usual location. Right-to-side power and volume buttons, and the left side of the SIM tray window. The cameras and sensors above the display, of course, are nowhere near an unnecessary sensor bay, as this is not a fashionable mobile phone but a real jungle fighter.

OVERVIEW WP2 7

There are two interesting things about the outside. One is the fingerprint sensor that is not in the usual location under the back camera but on the edge of the cabinet under the power button, the other is the back LED, which is actually a four-LED LED group. It serves as a flash, but not in the usual way, because it does not flash. When shooting, it will light up brightly, then the photo will be taken and the light will turn off. So let's not count on the magic of the moment in darkness, we'll take a moment of the magical moment after a magical moment.

Hardware and software

There are some cases where the interior is not particularly relevant to deal with, that's also the case. The MediaTek MT6750T central unit is already in teens with its eight core and its 1,5 GHz clock. If you want a cheap, but relatively strong core for a manufacturer in your mobile, then it's a little bit better for Helio P23. At OUKITEL, they decided that the former would be enough. As you have read in the introduction, it is not a problem, as the eight seeds are quite economical, and in any case, it is enough to survive until today. A bit of a quad-core proci would suffice, so the MT6750T for everyone who will answer this phone.

Please note: MediaTek MT6750T hoc.huâ ????

But not only will it be met, but also the amount of memory and mass storage. From its first 4, 64 GB is available, but if that is not enough, we can insert a 256 GB memory card into the mobile, and it can fit ten years of photo.

Since the central unit is not the youngest, and since all the snowdrifts are integrated into it, it is not surprising that we do not find the latest developments in the field of radios either. However, we don't really have to complain about Bluetooth 4.0 and n standard wifi, there is also GPS support and most importantly the B20 800 MHz LTE radio is also missing. We also get NFC as an extra, which is really not common in this category.

Of course, it is worth noting that the display did not spare the manufacturer, including the huge size of the WP2. The 6 inches panel works with FHD + resolution, 2160 x 1080 pixels. High Definition and High Resolution 403 results in ppi pixel density, so there is no problem with image quality. The backlight is enough, besides the sunlight, the display will not be unreadable

Finally, one of the biggest advantages of the phone is the bit-size battery. We had a phone of this capacity with us, not one, so I was not surprised by the almost unbreakable operation. According to the manufacturer's data, 28 day standby time or up to 50 hours can be counted on a single charge. If you want to watch a video, you can keep it for 15 hours and listen to music for an 66 hour without interruption. These data are impressive, but in real life it is really a tricky experience to get rid of charging with the charged phone with normal use for 7-10 days.

On the OUKITEL phone, the Android 8.0 version runs and the manufacturer is not packed with unnecessary applications. I will definitely do this as a positive one, I like to customize my phones with my usual programs and I'm not happy about it if they try to force me to use unknown applications.

The tests produced the appropriate values expected from the chipset, at least in most cases. It can be seen from the table that HOMTOM HT70, despite the identical hardware, performed better or incomprehensibly, some tests failed to complain about incompatibility on the phone. I emphasize that the chipset, so the GP was the same, so it's a bit incomprehensible.

Fortunately, these are just synthetic tests, with the mobile speeds there was no problem at all. The programs were loaded quickly, the interface was hesitant, so it would not be a problem for everyday use, especially when it was used for a work phone.

Photography

The OUCITEL WP2 has three cameras. An 8 megapixel sensor can be used on the front and a 16 megapixel Samsung sensor working with a 2 megapixel auxiliary camera. The latter is only for bokeh effect on the mobile, and practice shows that it is really pretty in normal quality to blur the background.

OVERVIEW WP2 11

It can be said that WP2 also suffers from weaknesses in similar Chinese phones. I do not say that the camera was useless, in fact we'd have been happy with the pictures some years ago, but nowadays, especially expensive phones, we can see much better photos. However, as you can see in the test screens included, you can also take pictures with normal light conditions.

The camera software is also quite average, with features blur, blurring the background, we get arc shaping, we can wiggle to wax, have panorama making and of course HDR. In Pro mode, standard sliders can adjust the ISO, white balance, and brightness in real-time to slightly compensate for camera weaknesses. Of course, as a professional photographer, we still do not have OUKITEL WP2, but really, more than anything else, you can click on more interesting things, at least on paper.

OVERVIEW WP2 10

Of course, the tiny, but annoying, problems come to fruition. Autofocus can still think long even in normal lighting so you can forget about shooting an image quickly. You can forget about the macros, it is impossible to imagine a close-up, because you never find the right distance for the software. If you want to take photos in the dark, you have to prepare for it. The backlight LEDs are unusually cold and do not even work as a flash. I have not seen anything like this yet. I press the button, the LEDs come on as a lamp turns on, then the picture is taken and the lamp goes off. It's very weird.

The camera has just reached the minimum level during use. The pictures are fairly detailed, but only as long as there is too little or too much light in the light. In the first case, the image begins to blink, and in the latter it tends to burn the image. The HDR function does not help, or even a bit worse, because the burning remains, in exchange for strange colors on the finished photos. I also tried the manual setting, but after a long experiment, the result was not good either.

With the photographing, the verdict is therefore quite depressing. The enclosed pictures appear to be far from inadmissible, in some cases, if all circumstances are perfect for photos, but it is a little difficult and you're already in trouble. So this phone, as I have described it for other similar devices, is the most workable phone. The camera is enough to record the status of a job during a job, foundation, or other work, but it is almost unsuitable for a higher level of work.

Usage and Rating

Since my old friend was already waiting for the phone, unlike my habit, the longer test missed, I had only three days of sharp use. During the three days I used the WP2 as the primary phone, so I was navigating, telephoning, watching and surfing YouTube, so I used everything I usually use a phone.

OVERVIEW WP2 8

You can read the photos above, so I will not go out again. During the phone call, there was no problem, the voice of the speaker would be honored for any phone, the speech was understandable, I was heard and understood on the other side.

Multimedia is a little different from pasta. As you can read the display is quite good, but the sound, though surprisingly strong - and mono, especially at higher volume, is like caving. Perhaps because of the big case, this is the effect, but in every case it's two degrees better than listening to the evergreen in the Sokol radio on Who's Winning Today, Game and Music in 5 Minutes.

OVERVIEW WP2 12

During the navigation I did not feel confused in the force. I'm pretty much accustomed to the accuracy that similar Chinese devices can offer. On roads running parallel in open terrain, it tends to retreat to the other road if it is near, and it will take a long while between high houses until a sufficient amount of satellite is found. If they do, they have no problems anymore.

OVERVIEW WP2 13

The central unit, as I said is not a piece of steel, is enough for everything. The only reason why we want a newer development is faster wifi, or 4.1 or 4.2 Bluetooth. Here at the end of the paragraph you find the table with comparative data, because I did the usual tests so you do not feel the lack of it.

OVERVIEW WP2 14

Maybe this phone would have had a little fading and skinning, but since the phone was a gift to someone I missed it, we would be sure it would not bake and crush it. Before I forget Gorilla Glass is over the display, so the scratch resistance is solved. Regardless of whether you would buy at least one conventional foil, it would never harm you.

OVERVIEW WP2 15

All in all, OUKITEL WP2 brings what we expect from it, really a real surviving phone, there is no thread in it. If you often break your phone or work, your lifestyle, your hobby requires a cellular phone that is resistant to all external physical effects, do not look further, OUKITEL WP2 will be your next mobile! According to customer reviews, the maximum 5 point is at 4,67 point, which can be said to be very good, so it is likely that you will not be disappointed either.

OVERVIEW WP2 9

The phone is usually purchased via GearB, the current price is 59 500 Priority Line duty and VAT free delivery is free!
