A cheaper Intel Core i7 compatible card is expected from Foxconn
Renaissance and Bloodrage are being followed by another Intel X58 product.
Az Like ASRock Foxconn also plans to launch a cheaper Intel X58 board. The suggested retail price for the Flaming Blade is expected to be around $ 200, which is competitive given that the GIGABYTE product, the GA-EX58-UD3R, which has nearly the same features, can be purchased for $ 199. For Flaming Blade, the manufacturer used the following cost-cutting solutions:
- the printed circuit board is different from Bloodrage, the bridge cooling is almost the same
- unlike Blood Rage's PWM, iron core coils are responsible for powering the CPU
- in the same way, three memory slots are present
- the number of PCI Express 2.0 x16 busses was halved, there was space for one PCIe x1 slot
- There are now two PCI slots, and a PCI Express x4
- the SONAR X-Fi sound card has been replaced by integrated audio
- Although the placement of the connectors has changed, we can report a similar donation: 6 SATA-II, 2 eSATA, 1 IDE, 1 FDD and 12 USB 2.0 ports.
