Nabi JR. NV5B - a tablet for children
Opinions are divided on how old a child can or should take a tablet. What is not a question, however, is that if we decide we want to put such a device in their hands, it should be like the Nabi JR.
This tablet is specifically designed for kids. The diagonal is only 5 inches, which is not a big phone nowadays, but in the hands of a child it is also quite a sufficient size. The hardware has also been put together so that the little ones enjoy using it, meaning the games run nicely on it.
The NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30SL quad-core CPU runs at 1,2 GHz. The system memory is 1 GB and the mass storage is 16 GB. Thanks to NVIDIA's chipset, unless you want to run the latest action games or simulators, there will be no performance issues. From the 16GB of storage, even if we subtract the space occupied by the system, there is roughly 10GB of free space left for quite a lot of games or photos.
On the outside of the machine, we can see that it was intended for hands that, on occasion, will not think about using it as a hammer. The silicone coating also protects the structure from stronger physical impacts. Protecting your machine is even more important than protecting your machine, as you may encounter a lot of content on the net that could be harmful to it. For this reason, it is important that the machine has a mode of operation for children and a mode for parents. The latter allows the machine to be configured, and the former has advanced content filters to prevent our child from encountering content we don’t want.
The price of Nabi JR is $ 49, which is roughly 14 thousand forints. This seems pretty friendly, it’s true that for the money we don’t get a serious tablet, we rather get a game, which in turn is as similar as possible to adult toys.
