Quad-core AMD processor above 3 GHz!

News from Fudzilla reports excellent tuning capabilities for the new AMD processors.

The subject of the test was an Agena core CPU, a desktop version of AMD Barcelona's core server processor. According to the information so far, the starting clock of a CPU with a bandwidth of 65 nanometers will be 2,40 to 2,60 GHz, which is lower than the 2,70 to 2,90 GHz known so far. Ageny will be able to manage 2 MB of second-level and 2 MB of third-level cache with 125 watts of TDP. It is expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2007.

The specimen in Fudzilla's reputation has a factory clock of 1,9 GHz, which is somewhat at odds with the information known so far. Only slightly, because the processor being tested is probably an instance for testers, so it is possible that the clock does not match the one used in the final release.

Based on the test, it can be said that the voltage was raised from 1,273 volts at the factory to 1,297 volts, thus being able to raise 1142 MHz on the clock signal, which corresponds to 62 percent tuning. At 3042 MHz, the information reportedly gave them a completely stable machine.
