MGCOOL Explorer Pro test - a cheap 4 Ks sports camera

The camera is the second test hardware we received from the GearBest store. Fortunately, they don’t tell me what to write about, I can choose what I want to try. As you may have read before, I already got a sports camera last year, so I also have some little daily experience, not just a short trial period until we can look at a test stuff. I wondered if anything had changed in half a year. Because of this, I then tried to get a camera that got another set of chips.

So MGCOOL Explorer Pro has arrived for me. I found a black cube in the standard Chinese store gray nylon, engraved with silver on top of the camera type. There is nothing else on the box besides that, so we can't find any advertising images or the expected minimum configuration data on it.

Taking off the top of the cube, we immediately face the camera as it sits in its waterproof cottage, surrounded by a soft sponge. Highlighting the camera, we find a box made of thinner paper. It is home to the accessories and the English description. Anyone who has ever encountered a similar camera should not open MGCOOL in the same way as other similar devices.

Accessories may also be familiar from other cameras. In essence, we get the same thing here. We have the waterproof case, we get a frame into which we can snap the camera and mount it on a tripod or car holder with a standard screw. There is also a bike / motorcycle mount that can be mounted on the handlebar. We get a 45 degree turntable so that when mounted on the handlebars the camera faces forward rather than sideways. There’s even a belt clip, plus two self-adhesive brackets, which are best recommended for attaching to a helmet. I have to stop here for a moment and congratulate the idiot who invented this helmet mount for these cheap cameras. These are STRAIGHT soles that should be attached to the helmet. I haven’t seen a rollover, be it a bike or a motorcycle, with a smooth top.
