Trinity APUs can be surprisingly cheap

Based on preliminary prices, we predict a good future for second-generation A-series APUs.

Trinity APUs that start in the fourth quarter may contain 1 or 2 Piledriver modules, which in AMD's interpretation means 2 or 4 processor cores. The new A-Series APUs have been shrouded for a long time, but for the first time we have received information on expected prices.

 

As you can see, the situation is far from bad, although it wouldn’t hurt to know exactly how well the products are capable of. What is certain is that the engineers focused on IGP, but due to the high clock speeds and the Piledriver modules, the computing power of the processor definitely increased. It can also be seen that the lower consumption unfortunately brings with it some premium, although the A8-5500 and A10-5700 are weaker than the A8-5600K and A10-5800K. In some situations, these products may still have a raison d’être.

 

In terms of graphics speed, we are in the fortunate position of having a leaked image that presents the expected state. The results of the HD 7660D show a huge variance. There is no doubt that AMD cannot loosen up in this area either, otherwise Intel would grow quickly on its neck.
