Does Chipzilla suffer from noticeable itching?
The day before yesterday was clearly marked by AMD Ryzen APUs, but that is now history.
Intel has now introduced the Core i3-8130U ultra-efficient processor, which, as the name implies, belongs to the eighth generation Core processor family, but is a descendant of the Core i3-7130U (Kaby Lake). The CPU is thus only quad-core in terms of logical threads, unfortunately physically a dual-core design. The 15-watt TDP offers a 2,20 GHz base clock signal and a 3,40 GHz turbo mode, while the integrated UHD Graphics 620 commutes between 300 and 1 MHz depending on the load. By implication, all this means that the Core-i000 3U is not primarily designed for gaming, but for browsing and filming - but it seems to be enough for that.

Seeds / fibers | 2/4 | 2/4 |
Base clock signal | 2,20 GHz | 2,70 GHz |

GPU clock | 300-1000MHz | 300-1000MHz |

The “novelty” has become quite misleading from a user perspective, as we can accurately see from the table above that only Turbo Boost and the slightly larger L3 cache provide substantial progress.
