1st-Trinity-Shipment-PhotoAMD has announced that it has started shipping the first copies of the 2nd generation APU (Accelerated Processing Unit). According to spokesman Phil Hughes, the A-series “Trinity” and E- and C-series “Brazos 2.0” models are better than their predecessors in almost everything. The A-series APUs are capable of double the performance of the current Llano generation for the same consumption.

"Brazos 2.0" can essentially be considered a renewed, refreshed version, so radical changes should not be expected here.

Products with the FM2 socket can be used in desktop computers, while APUs with the FS1r2 and FP2 sockets can be used in laptops. AMD “Trinity” and “Brazos 2.0” will soon be available globally. According to rumors, the former will debut in mid-May.
