The Intel Core i7-3820 has started

The cheapest processor on the LGA 2011 platform, the Core i7-3820, physically has 8 cores, but four of them have been deactivated by engineers.

The Core i7-3820 has the same instruction set (MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AES-NI, AVX) as the two big guns above. Based on the official specifications, the novelty has Intel VT-d, Turbo Boost 2.0 and HyperThreading support. The processor ticks at 3,6 GHz (Turbo Boost raises it to 3,90 GHz), half of its third-level cache is active, i.e. a total of 10 MB. The Core i7-3820 is placed in the 130 watt consumption class. To the "great" sorrow of tuners, the clock multiplier is not open, but the $294 price tag might make you forget this problem.
