A sizable passive rib on Asus ’two new HD 3650 Radeon cards

A V-shaped rib forest controls the temperatures of each component of the graphics controllers.

One of Asus' two new products may be a possible alternative when expanding / building low-power, low-noise home computers and PCs that function as such a fashionable entertainment center today.

The EAH3650 family has been enriched with models with passive cooling, an announcement that may cause some skepticism in many at first, as there are plenty of ill-designed, not-too-efficiently designed passive ribs on the market that you can run into at any time. That’s why Asus went a little too sure, with a bandwidth of 55nm here, a smaller graphics core there, the new 3650s got a passive cooling system that takes up two card slots.

Their 3D performance is believed to bring the expected level, as we can only detect some differences in terms of clocks - 256MB: 800 MHz; 512 MB: 700 MHz -, the graphics core operates at the recommended 725 MHz.

Released soon, expected after CeBIT.
