Lenovo IdeaPad 330, or what does AMD Ryzen know at the entry level?

I mean, it's a steam engine, but what drives it? Well, we’re going to scold the following components in the first place when something is moving slower than we’d like - it won’t be a rare moment when our interests cross the solitaire:
- AMD Ryzen 3 2200U;
- Seagate ST1000LM035-1RK172 1,0 TB;
- Hynix HMA851S6AFR6N-UH 4,0 GB RAM (2 MHz);
- AMD RX Vega 3 (Ryzen iGPU).
An uninitiated eye sees “problems” at two and an initiated one at three points. The first and perhaps most important is that only 4,0 GB of RAM works in this version of the IdeaPad 330, and then we can even complain about the lack of an SSD - no M.2 slots, OptiBay-

CPU Queen
The integer benchmark measures the efficiency of the processor branch estimator logic and the effect of erroneous estimates. The test looks for a solution to the classic “eight queen problem” on a chessboard of 10 × 10 squares.

According to AIDA64’s prediction, the Ryzen 3 2200U is roughly at the level of an overclocked Core 2 Quad in the worse moments, and the Klan-based Llano APU isn’t that awful far from it either. There are exceptions, of course, the AES that drives the fixed function unit e.g. threw a distinctly good number, but good performance in FPU tests is attributed to Bulldozer’s ailments. In the above statistics, it is important to emphasize that due to the single-channel memory system, it is likely that the chip was unable to reach its full potential.
And now come some measurement programs that are also popular, e.g. and Cinebench R15.
Cinebench R15
The OpenGL-based graphics test doesn't do much good in terms of Vega 3's capabilities (it's awesome, the anemic GeForce GT 620 is in sight!), So let's jump to the CPU quickly, maybe things will get better there.
THE PROHARDWARE! AMD Athlon 200GE closed the test with 351 points, which means that the one piece of memory module caused a significant problem here as well, since our present article protagonist his subject could not even approach this, although on an architectural level he should have concluded the measurement with a similar result.
WinRAR
Another memory-intensive measurement, another modest score: 2359 KB / s With the Ryzen 3 2200U, you can hang around a well-assembled Core 2 Quad-based machine, with WinRAR obviously suffocated by insufficient memory, but it's still disappointing.
PassMark
On the other hand, under the also known as PassMark (details: here) was finally able to flash our hero. However, it would be premature to light fires of pleasure, this is still just a multi-year production around the Core i3 4130.
SuperPI 1.5 XS
My personal favorite was on the list more just as a tribute to a long time ago, the SuperPi is still not AMD’s homemade metering program. An Ivy Bridge, in the worst case a Haswell-based Celeron, is capable of the above result, but we emphasize that this was not a particularly authoritative test!
The x264 HD Benchmark reported the pace it experienced in a nearly two-kilometer .txt file that was exactly 12,24 fps. By the way, that means the AMD Athlon 200GE has finally been caught in this run!
Finally, we also released a UserBenchmark circle with detailed statistics here readable. The program gives a pretty good idea of the situation, summarized the performance of the laptop below:
- The processor is barely, but even capable of, running 3D games, and its above-average pace, relative to the community, is coupled with a pleasant single-threaded speed. It can also be used to a very limited extent for more serious programs (server, workstation).
- The graphics performance is horrible, usually we can only expect a good gaming experience especially for old games!
- Because of the below-average hard drive speed, it’s not really a good choice for a primary drive.
- With 4,0GB of RAM, benevolent can still be said to be enough today - more serious games, of course, are out of the question.
UserBenchmark immediately piqued our curiosity, with CrystalDiskMark we immediately measured the pace of the built-in HDD. The average read and write speed of a hard disk is degrade by poor access time, which sometimes leaves the operating system running smoothly.
CrystalDisk Mark 6.0.1
As the structure was primarily intended for office use, possibly for browsing and filming, we monitored this area (with emphasis) despite the extremely tight testing time. We will first look at what we have been able to bring together with web measurement programs.
MotionMark and Speedometer
This will make it a little more exciting to see how the IdeaPad 330 does with YouTube videos. In short, the 4K is forgetful (or better, the bar vibrates strongly at 60 FPS), there will be no problem underneath. This is fine anyway, since 15,6p already looks nice in 1080p.
YouTube
As you can guess so far, eSport lovers will not find their calculation in this machine. Does this bother us? Not a drop, but we were really dirty with time, so unfortunately we were only able to test two games.
World of Tanks (SD client)
WoT fans do not need to explain what they have seen, we will tell the others that this is the normal graphical parameterization (see: here and here). The game was able to hold the number of frames per 30-40 seconds even in more crushing situations, sometimes unpleasant FPS drops (probably RAM is the blinker) made our lives harder, except that the gaming experience was fair. Another addition to the above images; Yes, I also managed to get the third gunmark on the American light tank T37, which also proves that I didn't talk in the air before, on the other hand, it exemplifies how damn I understand this WoT - the storm of applause can start!
There was time for another round, in the second act we run a retro title. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is a good choice because it builds on the Unreal Engine 3.0 engine that was one of the best and most popular solutions in its heyday. We hope this measurement gives you a glimpse of what the Ryzen 3 2200U can do with this graphics technique. Vegas 2 scrubbed 30 FPS during massive brushing, and the FRAPS counter was able to jump over 40 in addition to action. If you get the resolution a little lower, the stuff will almost split!
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
On the next page, we will say a few words about our experience with operations.
