The situation hasn’t gotten better since then, in fact, AMD recently unveiled a mid-range rider with a really good price / performance ratio when it came to the HD 3850 - and its price.

Of course, NVIDIA has also recognized the need to move on, and encouraged by the success of the 8800 GT, the new mass cards will also be built on the enhanced chip family. The exact model name of the video controllers, which are expected to debut in March 2008, is not yet known, but it is certain that the G96 GPU will be beating in their place. Unfortunately, we can't provide more information at this time, we can only hope that NVIDIA will abandon the 128-bit memory controller in this segment as well.
