AMD certainly has to break itself if it wants to stay alive, and it certainly seems to get themselves together; let's look at the VGA card market!
Our first news is about the Radeon HD 3850: it is already available for purchase at the brothers-in-law, all we have to do is sail to Vienna and take 153 euros (about 40 forints) with us. What’s even more worth knowing about this series is that the 000MB version will arrive a little more expensive, and if we can believe the manufacturer’s promise, it will be available in even larger quantities in two weeks.
Let's jump one higher, that is, let's look at the upper category! The R680, which essentially means connecting two HD 3870s, is virtually complete, but AMD is withholding test copies as it doesn't have a well-functioning driver package yet. As soon as programmers can show something worthwhile, the new top card could also be on its way - which could happen in January at the earliest.
If we are curious about the next generation as well, we can say that the R700 will truly be a multi-core solution. AMD can gain valuable experience with the R680, and from that it will be easier for them to put together a percussive R700. We will also be looking forward to the solution following NVIDIA's G90 series, as the future definitely means a logically multi-core architecture.
