Konami code protects the Opera browser

Norwegian programmers Kazuhisa Hashimoto they protected their browser by adopting the method.

For those who might not know what it’s all about, Gradius first came up with a key combination in 1986 that could be considered a virtually simple cheat, as it made the gameplay much easier.

This particular command has appeared in many games since then, but is quite a rarity during programs. In Opera 20, for some reason, programmers felt they had to hide advanced user settings that way.
