In China, the FX-7 has already crossed the 8350 GHz
The result from China is exactly 7442,83 MHz.
The record was set on the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 motherboard with the AMD FX-8350 processor and a powerful dose of liquid nitrogen. The latter was justified by the quite astonishing 1,968-volt core voltage, but the long-awaited result did not fall short.
Achieving extremely high clocks is no longer a novelty around the AMD house, as the company’s engineers have designed the Bulldozer architecture specifically for this. Vishera FX series processors with Piledriver modules also continue on this path.
Of course, conquering the 7 GHz limit is not feasible at home, but it is reported that the 5 GHz frequency can be crossed and even significantly exceeded with quality air and water cooling.
Speeding up the AMD FX-8350 to 7442,83 MHz is the CPU-Z authenticated. It is worth noting that the processor has 2 active modules for better overdrive - this is now common practice.
