More information has come to light about the green 9600 GT
NVIDIA is working on a lower power 9600 GT.
In mid-January based on information from VR-Zone, we reported on NVIDIA’s intention that the Santa Clara company plans to release a lower-power GeForce 9600 GT in the future. Although NVIDIA's announcement is yet to come, VR-Zone has released new information about the Green Edition suffixed graphics controller.
NVIDIA | GeForce GT 9600 | GeForce GT 9600 |
GPU | G94-300-B1 | G94-350-B1 |
NECK | P545/P547 | P562 |
Graphics processor clock | 650 MHz | 600 MHz |
Clock of the shading units | 1625 MHz | 1600 MHz |
Effective memory clock | 1800 MHz | 1800 MHz |
Memory bus speed | 256 bit | 256 bit |
Core voltage | 1,1 V | 1,0 V |
PCIe connector | again | nem |
TDP | 90 W | 59 W |
The video card gets a new six-layer printed circuit board, and the 55-nanometer GPU, codenamed G94-350-B1, may have a 0,1 V lower core voltage, but the clock seems to be declining at around 50 MHz, contrary to initial rumors. As a result of the intervention, the 6-pin PCIe connector could be banished, and power consumption was reduced from 90 to 59 W. Nevertheless, we hope that not only will the 9600 GT Green Edition be greener, but also cheaper than its predecessor.
