SuperPipe GTX 285 video cards were introduced by MSI

MSI is adding brutal cooling to its SuperPipe series GeForce GTX 285 video cards.

The company’s newly introduced line will initially consist exclusively of GeForce GTX 285-based graphics cards. The N285GTX SuperPipe has NVIDIA-recommended clock speeds (648/1476/2484 MHz), while the N285GTX SuperPipe OC has higher operating frequencies: in this case, the 55-core graphics core with 240 nanometer manufacturing technology, 680i, 1 GDDR3 memory works at 2500 MHz.

Hearing the name SuperPipe, we can associate it with a new kind of cooling, rightly so, as the dual-slot Twin Fozr is a huge aluminum rib, a combination of two fans and no less than five heat pipes, three with a diameter of 6 mm and two with an 8 mm diameter. MSI says the use of heavier-than-average heat pipes accelerates the delivery of hot air, thus bypassing similar solutions from competing manufacturers in terms of system efficiency.

Equipped with two DVI ports and a TV-out, SuperPipe video cards also come with a DVI-VGA and DVI-HDMI converter. The OC edition can already be ordered through the web store of the German City PC Shop, the price is exactly 337,50 euros - about 99 thousand forints.
