New AMD-based Dell computers

Dell, which has been selling PCs with AMD processors since May 18, has announced two new computer configurations.

A wide range of processors is available for the configuration called the Dimension C521. They can be fitted with a Sempron, Athlon 64, or Athlon 64 X2 unit, which of course is included in the final price. The C521 PCs come with an upgraded NVIDIA nForce 430-based motherboard, an integrated GeForce 6150 HP graphics controller, and also built-in audio and networking devices. Of course, the customer has the option to improve on - quite a bit - video performance with a 128-megabyte ATI Radeon X1300 or a 256-megabyte X1300 Pro. The motherboard can handle up to 4 gigabytes of DDR2 memory, and it also has a 16x PCIe and a 1x PCIe expansion slot for future enhancements. There are 2 USB 4 ports on the front and 2.0 on the back. Power for the configuration is provided by a 280 watt maximum power supply. Available operating systems: Windows XP Home, Windows XP Professional, and Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Of course, the maximum power of the power supply has also increased, which in this case means 305 watts.
