Apple has completely redesigned its smallest player: the novelty has become significantly smaller than its predecessor.

The metal-clad device is modestly advertised by Apple as the world’s smallest player, which if not definitely true, it is definitely close to reality. With such a small size, it’s almost natural for usability to suffer, but Apple engineers have resorted to an old but well-proven solution: the most important controls are placed on the earphone cable. Seeing the end result, this may even be a good pull, but it’s also bad to think about how much a special earpiece will be available after a possible cable break. For easy, everyday use, Shuffle's knowledge base has been added with a new feature called VoiceOver: the solution allows the Shuffle to communicate all relevant information orally, such as the title of the song being played or the battery capacity on request.
