I865 + double core Pentium = ASUS P5P800 SE
News has been circulating for some time that Intel's good "old" i865 chipset is capable of serving dual-core Pentium.
They also seem to have heard the news at ASUS and were reluctant to push a new motherboard out of the gate, building on the i865PE chipset and officially supporting dual-core Intel Pentium D processors.
The new P5P800 SE features an LGA775 processor socket (not surprisingly), but it also has the traditional equipment of its predecessors in every way.
We don’t have information on the price of the product yet, but it is expected to offer a much cheaper alternative than Intel’s current top motherboards.
