A HP and the newly signed collaboration between the University of Óbuda and the development of a laboratory equipped with the latest technology and following the latest trends, which will provide a new generation of Hungarian IT experts with up-to-date practical knowledge, especially in infrastructure automation, virtualization and next generation cloud computing technologies. The solution, which will be commissioned by specialists from HP's technology services business, will also support the university's testing and research and development work. HP is supporting the training of cloud computing professionals not only by setting up a cloud computing lab, but also by developing a hands-on curriculum focused on practical knowledge with the university.

The lab builds on HP's Converged Infrastructure solution portfolio, which provides the foundation for building a full-featured “cloud-based” IT solution.

  • At the heart of the solution is the HP BladeSystem solution, which is the most popular blade server-based infrastructure both worldwide and in Hungary. The solution is justifiably popular worldwide: more than half of the world’s 500 most powerful supercomputers are built on such infrastructure. In addition to the HP Blade System, HP ProLiant BL460c blade servers complement the lab server environment.
  • The lab is built on HP's proprietary Virtual Connect networking tools, which go beyond the usual networking functionality to create a smart networking solution that is well-suited for virtual resource management.
  • One of the most technologically advanced components of HP's solution is Insight Dynamics, which aims to organize IT capabilities into rapidly deployable resource groups. The operating environment, complemented by Insight Dynamics, accelerates the deployment of resources and optimizes IT capabilities between physical and virtual environments through HP “cloud-based” technology, while guaranteeing extremely high levels of service.

“In today’s Instant-On Enterprise organization, everything and everyone is connected to each other. This requires an IT environment that is flexible, automated, secure, and quick to adapt to changing needs. Cloud computing is an important and ever-expanding platform for companies looking for such features. With the expansion of user demand in this direction, training in higher education must also keep pace. That is why it is of paramount importance for HP to support the university community in ensuring the transfer of up-to-date knowledge. ” - said Dr. Péter Paál, CEO of HP Hungary.

“In collaboration with the University of Óbuda and HP, the Faculty, in consultation with HP, is preparing for the theoretical and practical education of two new and increasingly important disciplines, virtualization and cloud computing, with a laboratory background provided by the HP Cloud Computing Laboratory. Targeted expansion of the training offering and the provision of the necessary lab background will also enable the current HP Application Management Competence Center to become a Cloud Computing Competence Center, thus preparing the university with up-to-date knowledge for business IT challenges. ” Said Dr. János Fodor, Deputy Rector of the University of Óbuda.
