It has become commonplace that Chinese phones come in rectangular, flat and black boxes. HOMTOM did not vary greatly on the packaging, but remained in the best known, perhaps elegant, cardboard box at the top with the brand name.

At HOMTOM, they decided to re-release the old but proven MediaTek central unit, MT6750T, to this phone. Many people say that it would be good if they finally run out of the warehouses and finally use some new tiles, and I have to give them some truth. That's only partly because we're talking about old goods, doing the everyday tasks well and finally knowing everything in a bottom we can expect a mid-size tile. In addition, as you will see, the display did not become extra, and MT6750T is also brilliant.

The chip is made of 28 nanometer strip width and uses eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores in the processor. Four of these are 1,5 GHz and the other four 1 GHz are the maximum clock speeds. Energy consumption is relatively good, so it's not a bad choice in a long-life mobile phone.

In SoC, a dual-core ARM Mali-T650 MP860 video controller working on 2 MHz, as I wrote on the display, is enough to move relatively high-speed games with low-resolution even relatively modern games. The memory controller handles single channel LPDDR3 memories. This phone comes with an appropriate amount of 4 GB, which I think will be quite sufficient for today's applications. In addition to the standard volume, the built-in eMMC-based solution has 64 GB capacity, of course, it can be expanded with a memory card.

Display

I have mentioned it several times, I have also said it is not too steep. Nowadays, everyone is expecting FHD displays, but let's see, it does not always make sense to do that in mobiles. An HD + resolution IPS panel is enough for daily normal use, and even a smaller core core will be enough, the image will be smooth and as I wrote, even more modern games could run, despite the relatively old central unit.

What's so praiseworthy is that this phone has a shorter 18: 9 aspect ratio panel, so although the panel has 6 colos, and although the phone is quite bulky, with some compromise in a man's palm, single-handedness can be solved with some difficulty expense.

The panel in the phone therefore has a FHD + resolution, that is, 720 x 1440 pixels for the Mali video controller. The sixcolor diagonal has 6,82 centimeter width and 13,63 centimeter height. At this resolution, this image size gives 268 ppi pixel density. Although the phone looks really bulky, the front-panel display is surprisingly good, 73,14%.

Kamerák

Unfortunately, we do not have reliable information on rear camera cameras, at least for the manufacturer. We know we can work on two cameras, one of them being 16 - the other 5 megapixel. The aperture value for the higher resolution unit is f / 2.0, which is good.

The front panel camera is more familiar, the Sony Exmor RS chip is the sensor, which is not a bad recommendation. Compared to the other mobile capabilities, this camera is extremely good, as I would expect a single 5 megapixel camera for similar hardware. Instead, we get 13 megapixels, which is really good value.

Other skills

We also get GPS and GLONASS support for navigation, so we will not get lost. For wireless networks, a standard n unit is working, which is no longer the fastest, but the dual channel operation is more comfortable, so it does not only use the old 2,4 but also the newer 5 GHz band. The Bluetooth version is 4.0, this is how wifi is integrated in the central chip, so no wonder it's newer.

I ran the usual tests on the phone that could not have caused any surprises. We've seen a phone with such a chipset, with so much memory, so no wonder it did not make any surprises or disappointments. The point here is not the speed but the long battery life, though of course it would not be good if the phone was too slow to use because of the high cost. Photography

HT70 has a slightly altered camera software. Here, you can tap panorama photo, PIP photo, Blur effect photos, or normal mode. The panorama does not have to be explained. The front and rear cameras are also turned on with the PIP photo, and the front camera camera image is placed as a small photo on the backside camera image. The small image can be scaled, rotated and moved. The Blur effect gives a depth similar to blurring, not bad anyway.

The settings include an Auto scene detection. This is surprising, since such things can be found on phones with the right MI support, and HT70 is not guaranteed to have anything like that. Certainly, this ability can not be combined with face detection or shake reduction.

The quality of the pictures after the tests is average bad. This means that the middle part is impeccable, but it is minimal blur or distortion to the edges. Not dangerous. However, the phone does not work in extreme light conditions, so it does not like too dark or too bright. I wrote about whether this is convenient or not reporting. The fact is, using this phone, I've come up with the uncomfortable use of buttons on the side of the thumb. I used the phone for a charge, a dip. This would normally not take much time, but it lasted for nearly eight days. I admit I also have a corporate phone, so I do not do all the conversations with my phone, but I can still say that in average use, a week without charging time is no exaggeration. I went to navigation, wifi and bluetooth, I used a lot of mobile phones, I photographed, installed apps, tested a phone, so it was used properly.

I've been writing about the speed up, but I'll do it again. Even though the centerpiece is in the middle, this phone is quite enough. The desktop looks nice and hassle free, apps go fast and the 4 GB Ram is enough to keep your applications running in the background because the phone has slowed down.

I am happy with the camera myself. You should know that similarly-sized telephones are not cheap either because of the capacity. It could be a serious job to keep the price under $ 200, but at HOMTOM it could be solved with a few compromises, so for example we can not complain about the camera.

Overall I like this phone. you have to get used to size and weight, but something for something, in exchange for up to a week or leaving the battery in standby mode up to 50 days.
